Governor's Energy Policy Council

In August 2006, Governor Sonny Perdue appointed a 22-member Energy Policy Council to guide the completion of the State Energy Strategy for Georgia. The Council consists of eighteen members from business, public interest organizations and research institutions. Additionally, the Governor appointed four State officials to serve ex officio. Lee Thomas, retired president and COO of Georgia Pacific, chairs the Council. See biographies of the Governor's appointees.

At the Council's first meeting in September 2006, the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) presented an overview of the State Energy Strategy development process to date. View presentation.

At the Council's second meeting in October 2006, GEFA presented a summary of the comments submitted during the third public input period (Sept. 25 - Oct. 3). View presentation.
